Jamiroquai founding member Toby Smith chooses 10 for branding of new record production label.

London - 1st Dec 2005

10, the web communications specialist, has been appointed by Toby Smith, a founding member of the band Jamiroquai, to manage the image creation for his new record label.

Angelic Record Productions is as a young leading edge brand, identifying and developing emerging acts in the UK and abroad.

10 has created a brand mark based on an angel motif beaming light contained in a circle - inspired by the original vinyl label shape. Following the identity of the Angel, 10 was commissioned to create an online brochure for ARP, targeting new acts and highlighting the necessary quality that the studio extracts via a mixture of flash and html. The website is also structured as a portal for downloads and pictures of new acts.

Henry Villiers, Creative Director of 10 said: "Its great to be able to work directly with the owner of a business and with such a talented one. We have had a lot of fun in developing the concepts right through to the final design. This is a highly competitive market sector where all the big, established agencies play. 10 has proved its ability to come in and beat the best which is very encouraging at the outset for a young agency."

Toby Smith said: "We wanted outstanding creativity and fresh thinking. We were tempted to go with one of the better known creative agencies and we took a risk by using a new, young agency, but it has paid off and we are very happy with their work."

Julian le Maistre trained within the manufacturing division of Glaxo spending four years in sales. He has 20 years experience in marketing communications and business development and was awarded Master of The Arts in Marketing Communications in 2000. He has since built a freelance business helping director-owners to establish markets for new ventures and attract funding and potential partners and purchasers.

Henry Villiers has a solid track record as an outstanding designer and creative director. His work has won awards, particularly in New Media and digital marketing and his personal client list features dynamic and well-known business people. After returning from working in LA and New York earlier this year 10 was set in motion to combine Julian and Henry's skills through establishing a niche business generation and brand communications company.
